Infant Program

​The Infant (6 weeks through 17 months)  Curriculum consists of activities that stimulate their physical, cognitive,social, and emotional development.
  • Physically, infants 6 weeks through 4 months begin to lift their head and chest when placed on their stomach. They begin rolling from their side to their back, and begin to grasp objects placed in their hands.
  • Cognitively, infants 5 months through 8 months begin to laugh and listen to conversations, learn to make 1 syllable sounds, and begin to recognize their own name.
  • Socially, infants 9 months through 12 months begin to enjoy interacting with other children, begin to develop a sense of humor, and begin to assert themselves.
  • Emotionally, infants 13 months to 17 months begin to demonstrate the ability to communicate needs, initiates affection, and begin to comfort other children when they are upset.
Staff members incorporate activities into their daily lesson plans that help children develop specific skills and introduce new concepts and ideas.

Preschool Program 

The Preschool Program works with children  2, 3, 4, and 5 years old who have not yet entered kindergarten.
  • Fine motor and gross motor skills are introduced and developed during the preschool years. Two-and three year old children begin tracing large shapes on paper, whereas four and five year olds begin writing their names using a model.
  • Cognitively, two and three year olds have a speaking vocabulary of approximately 50 words, whereas compared to four and five year olds whose word vocabulary is between 1000 -2000 words. Threes typically ask questions like who, what, where, when, and why, unlike four and five year olds often find their own solutions to problems.
  • Socially, threes tell adults when someone hurts them; whereas, fours and fives begin to problem solve conflicts with adult guidance. Three year olds begin to initiate playing with others consistently while four year olds tend to play cooperatively most of the time.
  • Emotionally, threes begin to show control over their emotions and fours begin to verbally express their feelings, opinions, and ideas. Three year olds tend to be able to identify themselves as a girl or boy. The attention span of four year olds increases.

Afterschool Program 

 The afterschool program provide homework assistance, computer literacy, library skills, and enrichment programs for school age children.  In addition to the homework & computer help offered we will provide a snack, planned weekly cultural or educational activity and free play. When school is not in session we will offer full -time care with our winter holiday camp and summer camp filled with exciting fieldtrips and activities.
